Get more replies with a reward

Customers answer more when there's something in it for them. A journey can now offer a gift card for replying, Boom checks who qualifies and you approve every one. Here is how it works.

You ask customers why they left, what they thought of their last order or what's missing. Most don't answer. It's not that they have no opinion: answering takes time, and they get nothing back.

A journey can now offer a reward for replying. "Answer three quick questions and we'll send you a MX$100 gift card." Boom checks each conversation against your rule, and the ones that qualify wait in Drafts for someone on your team to approve. Only then is the gift card ordered and sent.

How it works

  1. Connect Tremendous in Settings › Rewards. Rewards are paid from your own Tremendous account: the money never passes through Boom. The same page shows your available balance and a button to add funds.
  2. Add a Send reward step to your journey, usually after the conversation that asks your questions. Choose the amount (in USD or MXN), how it arrives (a link in the same WhatsApp conversation, or an email from Tremendous) and who qualifies, written in plain words.
  3. Approve in Drafts. Each reward shows the amount, who gets it, your rule, Boom's reason and the last messages of the conversation. Approve and send, or Reject.

The customer gets a link and picks how to redeem it from the options for its currency, such as Amazon, PayPal or, in USD, a prepaid Visa.

Mention it in the first message

The reward is there to get people to reply, so they need to know about it up front. If your journey's first message doesn't mention it, the builder reminds you.

Reward what they did, not what they think

The "who qualifies" rule describes what the customer did, never what they thought. "Answered the three questions" is fine. "Said they liked the product" turns the reward into a payment for positive opinions, which review platforms and consumer protection law treat as buying reviews. Leave the rule empty and everyone who reaches the step qualifies.

What Boom takes care of

  • One reward per person per enrollment. If someone already got one, the step takes Not eligible and nothing is ordered, even if the journey has two reward steps or a loop.
  • Nothing goes out unapproved. Today every reward is approved by a person.
  • Balance in sight. If your balance can't cover the pending rewards, Settings and Drafts warn you before Tremendous refuses an order.
  • A budget per campaign. The Rewards page of each campaign or initiative lets you set a cap. An approval that would go over it is refused, and the reward keeps waiting.

On WhatsApp

To send the link on WhatsApp, WhatsApp first reviews the message that carries it. You create it with one click in Settings › Rewards, once per WhatsApp account, and it's typically approved in about a day. If you deliver by email, there's nothing else to set up.

From the API and MCP

The reward step is part of the journey definition, so you can add it with the journey tools over MCP. Pending rewards are drafts: list them and approve or reject them with the same Drafts tools, with the same permission check as the app.

Who can use it

Rewards are available in every workspace now. An Owner or Admin connects Tremendous and approves rewards; the rest of the team can see them but can't send them.

For now rewards pay in USD or MXN, and each one needs an approval. The step-by-step guide covers the whole setup.
